CAREER PATHS FOR OUR STUDENTS JUST GOT HEALTHIER!

by Joe Nunziata
(APRIL 19, 2017 - PELHAM, NY) Once again, PMHS students filled Alumni Hall for a Career Workshop on Wednesday morning April 19th to learn about the job and career pathways in the Healthcare industry. The panel of medical experts from Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville (part of New York-Presbyterian) volunteered for the morning seminar with just the right dose of knowledge and direction. Included were: John Reda, Physical Therapist, Mian Catalano, Registered Dietician, Shiranda Rhodes, Surgical Physician’s Assistant and Emergency Room Physician, Michael Lahn, MD.
It was all part of the Pelham Civic Association’s & Pelham Memorial High School Guidance Department’s Career Workshop Program. According to Pelham Civic Association Program Chairman Michael Clain, “There was a huge amount of valuable information provided to the students. They were introduced to pathways that would lead them to jobs and careers in the ever-growing healthcare industry, including education requirements and work experience. We cannot thank the panelists enough for volunteering their time and expertise to this morning’s successful workshop.”
The purpose of these interactive workshops is to provide students with a glimpse of the broad range of careers available, hopefully encouraging them to consider a future in those fields.
