Mary Curto and Terry Martell Honored as 2025 "Persons of the Year" at Annual Fundraising Gala!
On Friday, October 24, at The Surf Club in New Rochelle, more than 200 guests joined in a magnificent celebration of the Pelham Civic Association's Annual Fundraising Gala. They honored two of Pelham's most significant volunteers, who have indeed "made a difference" in Pelham — and beyond. This year's Persons of the Year were Mary Curto and Terry Martell.
The Gala was a tremendous success, reaching its goals as Civics continues to be one of New York State's most active, volunteer-driven charitable organizations, providing life-changing assistance and support to hundreds of our neighbors in the Pelham community every year.
The honorees this year are truly visionary. For more than three decades, Mary has poured her energy, talent, and heart into making Pelham a better place to live for everyone, including the Prospect Hill PTA, Pelham Little League, Pelham Recreation Commission, and so much more.
Terry has spent decades strengthening our community, serving as President of the Pelham Board of Education during the construction of the Middle School, Chair of the Pelham Heights Association, and a longtime youth sports coach. He has led local nonprofits, including the Pelham Art Center and United Way, and served as a trustee of CUNY and a finance professor at Baruch College.
Civic's Gala Chairman Maurice Owen-Michaane, Phil Carfora, and their committee spearheaded this year's Fall Gala. Pelham Civics President Tim Case delivered a warm welcome to all the guests, acknowledging the importance of their remarkable support.
